Your questions answered
Q What is botox?
A Botox is a purified form of a protein. It is a non-surgical treatment that can temporarily reduce facial lines and wrinkles.
During the treatment, very low doses are administered via a series of tiny injections directly into the muscles.
Q How does it work?
A Lines and wrinkles are causedby repeated muscle activity in certain areas. By injecting directly into the muscles the transmission
of nerve impulses to the muscles are blocked. This reduces the activity of the muscle and so reduces the lines formed.
Q Will the treatment hurt?
A No. The needle used is exceptionally fine and coupled with a gentle technique, discomfort should be minimal.
Q How do I get started?
A We will need to ask a series of questions regarding your Medical History and discuss which areas you wish to treat.
Following the consultation and discussion of options, a consent form will be signed. The area is then cleansed and the
procedure carried out. The treatment should take between 20-30 minutes.
Q How often will I require treatments?
A Results from the treatments can last up to 4 months. We recommend that you visit us 3 times in the first year of
treatment to ensure we reach your desired effects.
Q What else can Botox be used for?
A Botox can be used for excessive sweating particularly under the arms.
Q Are there any side effects?
A Side effects are very uncommon.
Q What will happen if I stop treatments?
A If you do not continue the treatments on a regular basis, lines and wrinkles will return as before.
Q How do I know the procedure is safe?
A Botox is a prescription only medicine and will only ever be administered following a stringent consultation and health
check. We pride ourselves on the standards and professional level of care that have led to our registration with the Care
